Data for 2nd Quarter Dive Industry Survey
Survey conducted and compiled by William Cline : July 2005
Survey Introduction

The Survey was fielded on 7/7/05. An invitation to take the survey was mailed out to approximately 6,000 people representing the widest possible cross-section of the diving industry within the USA and abroad. Thus far, as of 8/4/05, 337 respondents have completed the survey to date. This survey is a rolling survey, so the responses will increase over time. IP Blocking was employed to prevent a respondent from taking the survey more than once. Listed below are each question's response, then a cross-tabulation of each question, broken out by type of respondent.

This survey, as opposed to other industry surveys, is sent to a very wide cross-section of dive retailers, manufacturers, resorts, sellers of travel, publishers, certifying agencies, independent instructors and other industry professionals. As a result, this is the most accurate picture of what the industry thinks, at this point in time. Each question clearly shows the exact number of respondents, and then following each question as stated, a cross-tabulation showing each type of business' response to a given question. This way there is no confusion or question about how each business segment responded to this survey.

The results are made public, and this survey was sponsored, conducted and devised by William Cline, Cline Group, for the benefit of our clients, and the industry as a whole. Each quarter this survey is repeated, offering a glimpse as to how the industry is performing, based on the given responses.
